Does This Ever Happen to You??

Hello Everyone,

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful Moms!!! I hope you are all enjoying your day.

I have a little tail (tale) to tell you...

The other day when I was working on this top secret project (to be revealed at a later date)...

Yes, a little sneak peek! Fabrics are Essex Cotton/Linen Blend in Med. Aqua and Sugar from Art Gallery fabrics. But I digress...

When my little friend Pavi came for a visit. He thought that I was making a quilt especially for him. "Hmmm... I think I will relax here. Aren't I cute?"

"I must wash my face before I go to sleep."

"Washing just makes a kitty sleepy!"

"This might be a comfortable way to sleep, with my head right next to the sewing machine. Mom, won't mind!"

"Ahhh, now this is just right! I just love the hum of the sewing machine, great white noise!"

So I ask you, does this ever happen to you? Trying to be productive, but a little friend comes by to "help". How can a girl get anything accomplished?

In celebration of Mother's Day (for today only), save 10% in my shop by using the code mom10 at checkout.

Psssssst... Kona Color Cards are back in stock!! Hurry!

Until Next Time...

He's so cute! I have a dog, but she usually lay on the floor, so she is not in my way :o) Looking forward to see what you are making, wonderful colours!

OH YES! This happens to me a lot. My helper mostly steals my sewing chair when I get up to iron something. But occasionally she'll plant herself smack dab in the middle of the quilt or project I'm working on.

I have a similar helper...he seems to love my rotary cutter!!!!! So annoying but so cute! Darn, I saw your discount, but need to "talk" to you first!!!

Adorable pictures :)

No cats here, to many allergies/asthma. I do miss have them around though. Cats are so much fun!

Our kitty lives outside or he'd probably do the same thing! LOL

Yes, this happens quite a lot at my house! It must be the inherent magnetism of quilts...

This happens to me all the time! Then if you give the cat a little nudge so their tail doesn't get sewn up they get very indignant! Pavi is looking very cute on your work area! Lynne

Oh, such a cute kitty. Yes, my little dog wants to be in on all the action. I put a bed in my sewing room so he can sleep. Love the project so far..

Mars thinks that I make quilts just for her- She doesn't often visit me at the sewing machine itself- just when I have the fabrics spread on the loveseat or floor. I do not have a design wall so she is particularly " helpful" when I have them on the floor.
Ah the joy of pets... She does make me laugh..
Great pictures of Pavi...
Regards,
Anna

Isn't it great to have a "helper"!!

Fabulous shots of Pavi! I have helpers all the time when hand piecing. Most of the time they just settle down and curl up on my lap but sometimes they seem to think they can help by biting the pieces of fabric I'm working with!

This SEW happens to me! ; ) I tell my cat, "I'm going to sew over your tail?! You better move!" Yeh, she doesn't care. I'm happy to report there have been no sewing related trips to the Vet...yet! Enjoy Pavi and Happy Mother's day to you!

I used to have a cat the 'helped' my when I was doing my needlepoint and I was met with a paw helping the yarn every stich I took.

That happens to me all the time. The company is nice, but sometimes the aggravation....

I keep uncomfortable pointy things on top of all my projects in progress, otherwise I find a cat taking a nap right in the middle of the fabric pile!

No cats at my house but yours is sweet. Hope you had a terrific day.

I have to keep my sewing room closed, or I would get nothing done, lol. The newest thing is, as I am working on hand quilting in the living room, my Dora sits on the arm and tries to wheedle her way into my lap and if that doesn't work, a paw comes in to help me with my sewing.

I have a whole pack of 4-footed quality control fiends- 4 cats & 2 dogs. And of course, one dog and at least one cat absolutely *must* supervise everything I do in the studio!

Pavi is soooo adorable!!! Cute partner to keep you company in your sewing room :D
I'm drooling over that Essex cotton/linen aqua :)

Teresa said...

Good grief...Yes. My Felicia will come and sit as close as she can to me while I am sewing and if I don't acknowledge her, she softly pats me on the arm until I do. If that doesn't work...she starts knocking things on the floor.

My cat Ben *loves* the extension table for my sewing machine. I only use it when free motion quilting, so when it is out it is also covered by a lovely soft quilt. Needless to say it makes a perfect kitty bed. I'm sure he's just trying to be helpful, testing out the quilt and such. :o)

my zeusie has to be right in the middle of everything when I am quilting. He sits right in middle of fabric, lays his paw on sewing machine like he is helping me, and when I am hand quilting she sit sit right on top of quilt and don't we just love them.
