Switching Modes

Hello Everyone,

I know you have been waiting for a name on our kitty. My daughter finally picked one.... drum roll please.... His name is Pavi. Yes, that is his name, she just liked it. Thank you for all your wonderful suggestions.

Even though she didn't pick anyone's suggestion, I still decided that I am going to give away a charm pack. The winner is the 48th comment (generated by Mr. Random Number Generator)... Deborah from Caitty Quilts. Congrats!

Now onto quilty stuff. I needed a quick little gift and decided to make a bag. This one made up really fast.

Take note that I used these great grommets that the pattern called for... NO TOOLS REQUIRED!

The bag was a pattern I found from Endless Mountain Quilt Works in Tunkhannock, PA.

The grommets were found in JoAnn's Fabrics and come in a variety of colors. I used black in the above bag and here is a photo of the champagne color.

Then, I still wanted some quick little projects, so I made up 3 Sweet Treat bags in 3 different color ways. Okay, so I think I am in the "Channeling Stephanie Mode"!

This little Caribbean Waters Batik bag.

A Black, White, and Fuschia bag. Which also met the Black and White Challenge, YAY! You can see more photos of this bag there.

And a Moda bag. All these little sweet treat can be found for sale in my Etsy shop.

Anyway, that is what I have been up to. I am looking forward to doing my next Podcast and newsletter. So they will be up soon.

Until Next Time,

Christmas In July...

Hello Everyone,

First a kitty update....

NO name has yet been chosen. My daughter assures me that the kitty will definitely have a name by Monday, when we have to take him back to the Vet for a check up. Hopefully, some news then. It will definitely be easier with a name, I can stop saying Pssssssst, Pssssssst!

Now onto my Christmas goodness. My swap partner was Gai from Australia. She sent me some wonderful handmade items.

This photo show a little of each item, the swag wall hanging. Very cute!

The Christmas stocking, definitely will come to good use. Santa should be able to fill this one up pretty good. Crossing my fingers!

And some wonderful Christmas coasters for all those wonderful hot toddies that we have around the holidays.

Thank you so much, Gai! They are all wonderful and will be put to great use.

Don't forget to check back on Monday for a kitty update and name. In the meantime, I did update my gallery and also did a posting on the Black and White Challenge Blog. Check it out!

Until Next Time,

This Little Kitty Needs a Name....

Hello Everyone,

For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while you know that I have cats and adore them. Well, after not too much thinking, my daughter and I went to the Humane Society today and adopted another. This one is a kitten!! He is just adorable. So let me tell you a little about him.

He has tabby colored spots, but is mostly white.

Cute little pink ears, nose, and lips.

Very playful as he is only 3 months old.

Loves his feather toy.

Tries to hang on.

Purrs very loudly, melting your heart.

Loves to jump and is quite the acrobat.

And is just too darn cute.

But the dilemma remains that the Humane Society gave him the name of "Kyle". We don't think it fits him. So we need some help.

Please leave a comment with your name suggestion. If we choose one of the names from the comments, I will send the WINNER a wonderful charm pack of fabric. Looking forward to some of the names. Thanks!

Until Next Time....

What Do You Do When You Have Time????

Hello Everyone,

Yes, I had some time! Granted, they were stolen moments here and there, but none the less, it was time. So here are a few of the things that I was able to accomplish.

1. I opened an Etsy Shop! Yay, I am excited. You can check it out from the button on my sidebar or just click here. My main focus will be die-cut fabrics in all forms, strips, squares, circles, dresdens, drunkards, you name it! I will do custom orders too!

2. I finally updated my website gallery with new customer quilts. Check it out here. I am so behind. So if any of you are still waiting to see your quilt there, I promise it will be there soon.

3. Last time I had said we had taken a couple of road trips to PA. Since then we also went to Boston. Well, I don't know about you, but when my hubby is driving, I am stitching. Therefore, I have some TIME! Here are my results.....

It was the perfect time to work on my Grandmother's flower garden. I basted hexagons.

Sewed them together.

I quickly went up to 20 flowers. Now I know that I need 96 total for the project that I am doing, but I would say being approximately 1/5 th done is pretty good.

I just love the little stack. In my journeys, I was able to find this little packet of finger saving heaven. I don't know about all of you, but I never could get used to a thimble. So my finger has gotten callused and an occasional hole from the needle. OW!

So these little gems are a real helper. You just peel them from the paper and stick them to your finger. At first it takes a little getting used to, but then you don't even know they are there. And the best part no more holes in my finger. You can find them online by clicking here.

Oh and here is a picture of my little tackle box filled with new hexagons to baste and sew.

So, in conclusion, this is what I do with those stolen moments here and there. Not bad! I would love to hear from you, what do you do in those little moments that you might have?

Until Next Time....

Rhythm

Hello Everyone,

Yes, I am having a difficult time finding a good rhythm to my summer sewing and blogging. One thing that troubles me is that I love to answer all the comments that I get. But when I had my giveaway and then the drawing, I just couldn't keep up. Partly because we went away immediately after each posting.

So, I have decided, like many other bloggers in the same situation, to wipe the slate clean and pick up from here. My apologies to all my wonderful readers. I will be answering from here on in, thanks for your understanding.

Now some very COOL news. I am now searchable on iTunes!! Yes, my podcasts are now officially in iTunes!!! I am among the likes of Alex Anderson and Annie Smith. I am just tickled pink. My newest podcast is out and you can click on my sidebar to get it or go to iTunes and and do a search for it. Lots of good info on this Podcast, so definitely subscribe. Note if you are a previous subscriber you will need to re-subscribe as the URL has changed.

Also of special note you can get my July, 2009 Newsletter online now. Just click here.

Enough of the boring stuff, bring on the fabric and patterns.

I some projects/finds/patterns/thanks to acknowledge, so here goes....

I recently purchased these lovely Kaffe Fassett fabrics from Terri at Quilternity. She has a wonderful selection and great prices. She is also quick as a bunny! I bought them for a special project, of which I cannot mention, because a certain someone may be reading.

Aren't they gorgeous?

Then on our little trip to my Mother-in-law's home in Kutztown, PA. We went to the Folk Festival. Of course, I went to the quilt barn, but look what I picked up at an antique vendor, some gorgeous feedsacks. I thought of you Nanette and Glenna!

I also recently purchased this wonderfully written and produced pattern from Stephanie at Loft Creations. It is her first published pattern and it is a real gem. If you haven't gotten it yet, it is a must.

I was also lucky enough to win a giveaway from Julie at JayBird Quilts. She sent me this wonderful template set and some charm squares that are just perfect. Thank you Julie!!

So here is to hoping I soon get some rhythm. I really need to because I am also way behind on putting customer quilts on my website gallery. Next post you will see some progress on projects! So wish me luck and .....

Until Next Time.....
